Passport Information 
and Applications


Due to recent changes directed by the Department of State, the DeKalb County Clerk's office is NOT allowed to process passports using birth certificates issued by the DeKalb County Clerk or DeKalb County Health Department.

Applications for U.S. Passports are accepted for processing at the Office of the DeKalb County Clerk. The requirements for a passport are as follows:

1) A properly completed application (forms available in County Clerk’s office).

2) Two (2) professional passport photographs, printed from the same negative, not more than six months old and no larger or smaller than 2" x 2".

3) Proof of citizenship in the form of a previous passport, a certified copy of a birth certificate or a naturalization certificate; identification in the form of a valid driver’s license, or a State I.D.

4) Every individual applying for a Passport (including children) is required to be present in person at the County Clerk’s Office.

Fees required for a passport

Adult - 16 years of age and over, a $67.00 check or money order made payable to the DEPARTMENT OF STATE and a $30.00 check or cash to the DEKALB COUNTY CLERK. The passport will be valid for ten years.

Child - 15 years of age and under, a $52.00 check or money order made payable to the DEPARTMENT OF STATE and a $30.00 check or cash to the DEKALB COUNTY CLERK. The passport will be valid for five years.
