To the residents of DeKalb County:

The DeKalb County Health Department is launching its annual “Flu Ends with U” prevention campaign that emphasizes the importance of flu vaccination. Refer to the listing at the right for Health Department flu schedules.

In addition to getting the flu shot Continue to PRACTICE the 3 C’s:

Clean your hands – Wash your hands often with soap and warm water.

Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing – Cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow—not your hands. Or use a tissue to cover your mouth and nose.

Contain your germs – Stay home if you are ill.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that everyone, six months and older, should get a flu shot. Flu shots have a long and successful track record. All vaccines are approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). You cannot get the flu from either the shot or the inhaled version of the vaccine.

Sincerely,

Jane Lux
Public Health Administrator
DeKalb County Health Department
