Influenza Vaccine Information

Flu shots can be obtained at the Health Department on Thursdays starting between the hours of 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.  No appointment is necessary

Again this year, the State Immunization Program provided flu vaccine at a substantial cost savings for children that qualify under the Vaccines for Children Program.  Children can come to the Health Department on Thursdays during the hours of 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. or you can call 815-748-2460 to schedule an appointment for your child.

Flu shots will not be given to individuals that are allergic to eggs or who report a history of previous adverse reactions after receiving the flu vaccine.  Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

There will be a $30 charge for adults receiving the flu shot.  Medicare will be billed for those individuals with Part B.  You must bring your Medicare card to the clinic.  Medicaid (or Public Aid) will also be billed for adults and your card must be presented to receive the vaccine.

Additional information can be obtained by visiting our website at www.dekalbcounty.org and going to the Hot Topics link.

Thank you.
