NOTICE TO THE TRAVELING PUBLIC

The County Engineer has announced that construction has begun on the replacement of the Esmond Road Bridge.  Because of the construction, Esmond Road between Illinois Route 64 north to Mowers Road is now closed to local traffic only.  Construction is scheduled to be completed by June 27, 2008.  Sjostrom & Sons, Inc was awarded this project during the November 2007 DeKalb County Board Meeting.  The cost of replacement for this South Grove Road District Bridge is $448,350.00.  Anyone having any questions or concerns about this project can contact the DeKalb County Highway Department at 815-756-9513.

IDOT has announced that construction will begin on July 16th on IL Route 38 over the Kishwaukee River to remove and replace the structure.  Two lanes of traffic will remain open through the work zone during construction however the lanes will be shifted to accommodate the staged construction.  The contract was awarded to Civil Constructors at a cost of $3,135,961.59.  Completion date is projected to be June 30, 2008.

Cherry Valley Road, southeast of Stone Quarry Road will be closed Monday, May 5, 2008 and will remain closed until approximately July 29, 2008.  The closure is necessary for the replacement of the bridge on Cherry Valley Road.  Any questions can be referred to the DeKalb County Highway Department at 815-756-9513.
