HIGHWAY CROSSING PERMITS

The DeKalb County Highway Department requires that an approved highway crossing permit be issued prior to any aerial or buried crossing are made over, under or along highway under the County's jurisdiction. DeKalb County charges a $5.00 administrative fee for all permits as well as a per mile/per trip charge for overweight vehicles traveling on the County roadway system.

The information needed by the Highway Department to make a decision as to whether to approve or deny the request is:

1)	Name, address and phone number of party making request
2)	Contractors name, address and phone number if different from above
3)	Location site...include the name of the County Highway and the parameters of the project
4)	Brief description of the project
5)	Estimated beginning and completion date
6)	A drawing should be included showing the placement of the requested installation
