DEKALB COUNTY’S DRIVEWAY CULVERT POLICY

New Installations by Contractor:
            Policy is to have contractor fill out permit form, which will be reviewed by Maintenance Foreman for placement and sizing. Upon its approval, or denial, copy is to be sent to contractor, who will purchase and place material. County will assume maintenance thereafter. There will be a $5.00 permit fee.

New Installation by Property Owner:

             Policy is to have Maintenance Foreman look at location site and determine material needed. We will then fill out a permit indicating appropriate information and bill land owner for pipe and one ton of gravel per foot. Upon receipt of payment, County forces will then install pipe and maintain thereafter. In addition to material costs, there will be a $5.00 permit fee.

Extension of Existing Pipe:

             Policy is to have property owner (or tenant) fill out permit form (no charge) and we will approve or disapprove as required. Entrance extension will then be placed by owner or by County, whichever manner property owner prefers and County will then maintain. If the County places extensions, we will bill for material as in a new installation.
