The National Association of County Engineers has selected DeKalb County Engineer, William "Bill" Lorence, P.E. as the 2006 Rural County Engineer of the Year.  This award was presented on the application of efficient engineering management principles and standards for the economic design, construction, maintenance and operation of public works facilities as approved and published by the National Association of County Engineers Management Research Project Manuals and Guides.
