The DeKalb County Forest Commissioner met in regular session at the Legislative Center on Wednesday, September 21, 2005.  President Tobias called the meeting to order and the Clerk called the roll.  Those Commissioners present were Mr. Whelan, Ms. Vary, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Steimel, Mr. Slack, Mr. Sands, Mr. Rosemier, Mr. Osborne, Mr. Metzger, Mr. Lyle, Mrs. Leifheit, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Gudmunson, Ms. Fullerton, Ms. Fauci, Vince Faivre, Mrs. Dubin, Ms. De Fauw, Mr. Augsburger, Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Allen and President Tobias.  Those Commissioners absent were Ms. LaVigne and Steve Faivre.  Twenty-two Commissioners were present and two Commissioners were absent.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Mrs. Turner moved to approve the Minutes of the August 17, 2005 meeting.  Mr. Lyle seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

The President asked for a voice vote on the approval of the Minutes.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

Mr. Whelan moved to approve the Agenda and Mr. Rosemier seconded the motion.

BUSINESS

Resolution - R2005:57: Bid Award for Two Open Air Shelters

Motion

Ms. Fauci moved to accept a Resolution approving a bid award to the lowest bidder, Park Supply Company of Geneva, Illinois, for two open air shelters, in the amount of $17,250.00.  Mr. Rosemier seconded the motion.

The President called for a roll call vote on the Resolution.  Those Commissioners voting yea were Mr. Whelan, Ms. Vary, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Steimel, Mr. Slack, Mr. Sands, Mr. Rosemier, Mr. Osborne, Mr. Metzger, Mr. Lyle, Mrs. Leifheit, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Gudmunson, Ms. Fullerton, Ms. Fauci, Vince Faivre, Mrs. Dubin, Ms. De Fauw, Mr. Augsburger, Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Allen and President Tobias.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously. Resolution R2005-58: Bid Award for the Construction of a New Trail in Potawatomi Woods Forest Preserve

Motion 

Ms. Fauci moved to accept a Resolution approving a bid award to the lowest bidder, Dashney Gustafson, Inc. From Kirkland, IL. For a paved A.D.A. handicap accessible trail approximately one mile in length linking facilities and environments at Potawatomi Woods Forest Preserve, in the amount of $57,820.00.  Ms. Vary seconded the motion.

Claims

Ms. Fauci moved to approve the current months Claims in the amount of $16,366.63 and Payroll & Emergency Claims paid from prior month in the amount of $23,805.84.  Mr. Lyle seconded the motion.
