The DeKalb County Forest Preserve Commissioners in regular session at the
Legislative Center on Wednesday, June 21, 2006. President Tobias called the
meeting to order and the Clerk called the roll. Those Commissioners present were
Mrs. Allen, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Augsburger, Ms. De Fauw, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Faivre,
Ms. Fauci, Ms. Fullerton, Mr. Gudmunson, Ms. LaVigne, Mrs. Leifheit, Mr. Lyle,
Mr. Metzger, Mr. Osborne, Mr. Slack, Mr. Steimel, Ms. Tolene, Mrs. Turner, Ms.
Vary, Mr. Whelan and Chairman Tobias. Those Commissioners absent were Mr.
Haines, Mr. Rosemier and Mr. Sands. Twenty-one Commissioners were present and
three Commissioners were absent.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion
Ms. Tolene moved to approve the Minutes of the May 17, 2006 meeting. Mr. Lyle
seconded the motion.
Voice Vote
The President asked for a voice vote on the approval of the minutes. All
Commissioners present voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion
Mr. Whelan moved to approve the Agenda and Mr. Osborne seconded the motion.
Voice Vote
The President asked for a voice vote on the approval of the Agenda. All
Commissioners present voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.
BUSINESS
Claims
Ms. Fauci moved to approve the current months Claims in the amount of $13,597.68
and Payroll & Emergency Claims paid from prior month in the amount of
$22,542.48. Ms. Vary seconded the motion.
Roll Call Vote
The President called for a roll call vote on the Claims. Those Commissioners
voting yea were Mrs. Allen, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Augsburger, Ms. De Fauw, Mrs.
Dubin, Mr. Faivre, Ms. Fauci, Ms. Fullerton, Mr. Gudmunson, Ms. LaVigne, Mrs.
Leifheit, Mr. Lyle, Mr. Metzger, Mr. Osborne, Mr. Slack, Mr. Steimel, Ms.
Tolene, Mrs. Turner, Ms. Vary, Mr. Whelan and President Tobias. All
Commissioners present voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS
Under new Business, Ms. Fauci announced the presence of a flyer on the desks of
a hand out describing the Emerald Ash Borer. This insect is moving westward from
DuPage and Kane Counties. The Forest Preserve Committee is looking at taking
Pro-active action to help stop the spread of this pest in firewood used in the
DeKalb County Forest Preserves

Ms. LaVigne moved to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Augsburger seconded the motion.
Voice Vote
The President asked for a voice vote on the motion to adjourn. All Commissioners
voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.
