	Minutes of the Forest Preserve Committee June 18, 2002

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve Committee met Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at Sannauk Forest Preserve, at 6:00 p.m. Chairman Mr. Morreale called the meeting to order with Mr. Dlabal, Mr. Guehler, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Sands and Mr. Simonson present. Mr. Haines arrived at 6:15 p.m.

 

Moved by Mr. Dlabal, seconded by Mr. Simonson, and it was carried unanimously with a voice vote to approve the minutes for May.

 

Moved by Mr. Guehler, seconded by Mr. Simonson, and it was carried unanimously with a voice vote to approve the agenda.

 

Mr. Morreale asked the Committee if anyone had questions regarding the monthly report. No Committee member had questions.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION/ LAND ACQUISITION

Moved by Mr. Simonson, seconded by Mr. Sands, it was carried unanimously to move into executive session by roll call vote for the purpose of land acquisition at 6:05 p.m..

Moved by Mr. Dlabal, seconded by Mr. Guehler, it was carried unanimously to return to open session by roll call vote at 6:25 p.m.

Moved by Mr. Sands, seconded by Mr. Haines, it was carried unanimously by roll call vote a motion to prepare a resolution for the July Forest Preserve Commissioners meeting to enter an agreement to purchase the Kirkland property for $1,200,000; the County would issue a check to cover the purchase, the Forest Preserve District would reimburse the County from grant monies to be received in October, and the remaining balance of approximately $320,000 would be a 2 year interest free loan from the County to the Forest Preserve District.

Moved by Mr. McLaughlin, seconded by Mr. Dlabal, and it was carried unanimously by voice vote to adjourn the meeting.
