DeKalb County Nursing Home is a 190 bed skilled care facility licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The Nursing Home is certified for participation in the Title XVIII (Medicare) and Title XIX (Medicaid) programs. The Nursing Home has a current operating budget in excess of 7 million dollars.

The staff of the Nursing Home comprises about 45% of the total labor force employed by the county of DeKalb, Admissions are coordinated through the Nursing Home’s Social Services Department. A plan of care is developed for each resident through an interdisciplinary process of problem identification and goal setting. The nursing home is committed to providing the highest quality of rehabilitation services through combining our specialized services with other supportive services to optimize each residents recovery. Our Medicare Rehabilitation Programs are customized to each residents needs.

Resident goals are attained through planning by the Departments of Rehabilitation, Activities, Social Services, Nursing and Dietary Services. Many other departments at the Home are also responsible for indirectly providing quality care: Business Office, Education, Laundry, Housekeeping and Building Maintenance.

The Volunteer Program is an essential component in bringing extra services and attention to the residents. The Rehab & Nursing Center Auxiliary sponsors fund-raising activities and manages the Peddler Shop and Cart. The Nursing Home Foundation provides funds for capital and other resident and facility needs.
